Hi! 👋 Welcome to my blog. I'm so happy you're here!

Why "Many Melanies"? 🤔 Will there be more than one Melanie contributing to this blog? Well, kinda... Although I'll likely be the only writer, and my name is indeed Melanie, I respond to many other names & titles too.

My parents call me Mel (rarely Melanie).

My husband ONLY calls me Melanie (never Mel) for this reason right here. ⬇️ And yes, I realize 99.9% of you won't have any idea what show it's from, but that guy there? The crotchety owner of the diner? His name is Mel. And the waitress Flo? Her famous saying was "Mel... kiss my grits!"

Mel and Flo from the TV show Alice.

My friends call me either of those (Melanie/Mel)... and probably some other choice names when they're not happy with me.

My kids call me Mom & Momma (sometimes bruh 🙄).

And my aunt & uncle? Well, they call me by a childhood nickname that doesn't need mentioning here. (Okay, fine - since you begged - Smelly Melly with the Jelly Belly). I have no clue why they landed on that name, but I promise it had everything to do with rhyming & not because I was stinky & had a toddler gut. See? I was cute!

However, I also go by a few other important names too:

Voice Actor. Voiceover Talent. Voice Goddess. 🎤

Okay, so absolutely NO ONE calls me by that last one - yet, but if you decide to be the first, I won't fight you! 😉

All of these names reflect who I am as a person and what I value most in life - faith, family, friends and a career I love. What I've found over the years is that they also have a way of colliding in the most interesting & humorous ways.

After being encouraged to write a blog for a long time...right now seems like the perfect time to put my journalism degree writing skills to use.

Life is funny. It just is. I can find the humor in just about everything - and I love sharing that humor in hopes of giving others a chuckle too. My ultimate goal for this blog is to give clients (and potential clients!) a chance to get to know me beyond the booth.. and to give those who already know me a peek inside in the voiceover world - all while providing some laughs along the way. My hope is that you'll relate to my posts about marriage & parenthood, learn something new about the voiceover business, and/or just laugh at my ridiculous take on life in general. ❤️

Thanks for joining me!

Melanie (and all of those other names)
